Padlock for iPad
Looking for free security to make sure your iPad screams for help when it’s taken in public? There’s an app called Padlock (by Kitchen Budapest) which continuously check the connection to the USB port (requires iPad connection to computer). If the iPad gets disconnected, then an alarm sounds.

The software works with the iPad, iPod, or iPhone. You need a Mac computer with built-in or external loudspeakers. The piece of software works on Mac OS X 10.6.
Activating the alarm is easy, just hook up the iPad USB cable to the computer and click the Lock button to start protection.
To stop the alarm, the user will have to re-plug it back to the USB port and press the Unlock button.
Right now, the software is not password protected, so anyone can turn off the alarm by accessing the software. The alarm can also be muted by connecting the earphones to the computer.
